This special “110 Proof” edition of The Macallan’s Sherry Oak 12 Year Old is a limited-release, higher-strength interpretation of their acclaimed sherry-cask matured single malt. The higher 55% ABV is designed to showcase intensified flavours derived from exclusive European sherry-seasoned oak casks. 

Tasting Notes

• Appearance: Deep amber-gold colour with rich reflections, indicative of significant sherry-cask influence. 

• Nose: Rich aromas of sticky dates, cherry compote, baked figs, dark chocolate, and a hint of orange peel and treacle toffee.

• Palate: Full-bodied and rich — dried fruit (raisins, sultanas), warm spices (cinnamon, clove), cacao nibs, espresso-mocha beans, and a depth of oak-vanilla complexity.

• Finish: Long, warming and layered — lingering treacle toffee, dark chocolate, subtle ginger, and a mellow sherry-sweet dryness that invites another sip.
