Fort Hamilton Double Barrel Rye Whiskey 750ml

Fort Hamilton Double Barrel Rye Whiskey 750ml

Double Barrel isn't a gimmick — it's a philosophy. Fort Hamilton blends two distinct straight rye whiskeys, each bringing something the other can't replicate alone. The first is distilled from 100% New York-grown grain at Taconic Distillery in Stanfordville, NY, using a mash bill of 90% NY rye and 10% malted barley — a true Northeast rye with no corn, barreled low at 120 proof to let the grain speak. The second is MGP's celebrated 95% rye, 5% malted barley from Lawrenceburg, Indiana — the backbone of some of America's most respected ryes. Both are aged a minimum of two to three years in 30- and 53-gallon char level 3 American white oak barrels, then blended together and proofed to 46% before bottling. No chill filtration. No shortcuts.

The result is a rye that covers the full spectrum of the American rye tradition — New York grain character and Indiana spice backbone, united in a single pour.

Tasting Notes

  • Nose: Herbaceous dill, fennel, walnut skin, and a thread of vanilla spice
  • Palate: Dark cocoa powder, caramel-covered pretzels, yellow apple, warming baking spice, and a subtle nuttiness
  • Finish: Honey, sea salt, lingering rye spice, and a clean, dry oak fade
